Our first investment - Abir Academy & Abir's GARDEN - Aguidangra, PaTAMDA
Abir Academy is an in-house project of Abir Foundation focused on providing high quality education to underprivileged children via a self-sustainable-school model. Through this model, we plan to serve the communities that do not have access to good quality education at an affordable cost.
We plan to fund the operations of our school with the proceeds from the sale of goods and services from Abir Foundation. One of our first ventures to fund the school operation is Abir's Garden - an organic fruits and vegetables farm.
Our flagship school is being setup in Aguidangra, Patamda - a village located 27 Kms from Jamshedpur. Currently the school is enrolling children from ages 4 - 7. The village has approximately 3000 people and a large number of them are below the poverty line.
Our Education Philosophy
'Abir' in Hebrew means 'brave' which is the core element of our education philosophy. We guide our students to become brave and responsible citizens of the world. We help them understand that there is a great big world out there with limitless opportunities for them - only if they are eager to learn and brave enough to apply those learnings to face the challenges of life.
We follow the Montessori education system – a child-centered approach to education. In a Montessori classroom, students are engaged, energetic, exploring, social, and most of all, learning to take ownership of their own education. They’re also unified communities in which each child understands the responsibility of being an individual student in the class while supporting the learning of others.
